Christmas comes early for Carrie Underwood this year: The former American Idol champ will headline her own holiday variety show on Fox, the network announced.
Carrie Underwood sets release date for third album
Set to air Dec. 7, Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special will feature performances from Underwood, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and fellow Idol winner David Cook. Additional guests will be announced.
The special will be directed by Adam Shankman, and will be executive-produced by Idol creator Simon Fuller and former Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe.
Jennifer Hudson returns home for Christmas special
The 26-year-old Underwood, who will release her third album, Play On, on Nov. 3, is the second Idol alum to nab a holiday special as Jennifer Hudson locked in one with ABC last week.
