Wilson Phillips Singer Carnie Wilson Reveals She Has Bell's Palsy

Carnie Wilson

Carnie Wilson is suffering from a nerve disorder called Bell's palsy, the Wilson Phillips singer announced on Twitter.

Bell's palsy is a form of facial paralysis that is usually temporary resulting from a dysfunction in the facial nerve. "Just wanted you all 2 know that I have Bell's Palsy on [left] side of face right now. Scary, unfortunate, but it goes away. A challenge! Love u," she wrote on Twitter last week. Later, she added that she has been treating it successfully with acupuncture.

TV Scorecard: Renewed or canceled?

Wilson has struggled with her weight for years, undergoing her second weight-loss surgery last March, which was filmed for the TV Guide Network reality show Wilson Phillips: Still Holding On. The 44-year-old never hesitated about sharing the experience with viewers. "I just said, 'This is what's happening in my life, and I'm not going to hide anything.' I wanted it to be real," she told TVGuide.com. "It's what I'm going through. It's what a lot of people need to see because they've trusted me to be open with them. It's like a responsibility for me."
