French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni Welcome a Daughter

French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday in Paris, Le Figaro reports.
Bruni-Sarkozy, 43, delivered at approximately 8 p.m. local time at the Clinque de la Muett.

This is their first child together, and the first child born to a ruling French leader since Napoleon. Bruni-Sarkozy, who married the French leader in February 2008, confirmed she was expecting in July.
The singer, actress and former model has one son from a previous marriage. Sarkozy, 56, has three children from two previous marriages.
