Green Arrow, The Carrie Diaries

The Green Arrow, Carrie Bradshaw and a certain beauty may soon be returning to television.

CW has ordered pilots for Arrow, based on DC superhero The Green Arrow, the Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, and a contemporary update of Beauty and the Beast.

The CW developing its own Beauty and the Beast series

The hour-long drama Arrow is a modern retelling of the legendary hero's adventures. Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg will executive-produce. The iconic archer was recently played by Justin Hartley on CW's Smallville.

The Carrie Diaries, based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, follows a younger Carrie Bradshaw who comes of age in the '80s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan. Bushnell is attached to executive-produce alongside Gossip Girl duo Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein and writer Amy Harris

The CW moves ahead with Sex and the City prequel

Beauty and the Beast will be loosely based on the 1987 CBS series starring Ron Pearlman and Linda Hamilton. The updated version will include a procedural twist. Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper will write and executive-produce alongside Paul J. Witt and C. Anthony Thomas, Ron Koslow and Bill Haber. ABC is also developing a Beauty and the Beast project, planned as a more traditional take about Belle being imprisoned by the Beast in his enchanted castle.
