Meet the new Carrie Bradshaw: AnnaSophia Robb has landed the leading role in CW's The Carrie Diaries.

Based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, a younger Carrie Bradshaw (Robb) steps into the limelight as she comes of age in the '80s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan. As previously announced, Stefania Owen will play her younger sister.

Robb is well-known for her roles in Because of Winn-Dixie and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where she played Violet Beauregard. Her credits also include Bridge to Terabithia and Race to Witch Mountain.

Bushnell will executive-produce alongside Gossip Girl duo Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein and Sex and the City writer Amy Harris
