Carol Mendelsohn

CSI showrunner Carol Mendelsohn has sold six new projects, Deadline reports. Mendelsohn, along with production company President Julie Weitz, is developing three cop dramas with CBS, a cop series with FX and two book adaptations with The CW.

The Murder Room (CBS), based on the book by Michael Capuzzo, is a true story about a famous profiler, a forensic artist and a leading investigator for the FBI who form a team to probe crimes that law enforcement can't solve. George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum) will write and executive-produce. 

Widow Detective (CBS) follows a police detective who adopts the families of his three partners who have been killed in the line of duty. David Hubbard serves as writer and executive producer.

Two Badges (CBS), based on the book by Mona Ruiz and Geoff Boucher, is about a female police detective torn between the barrio she was born into and the city she protects. The Good Wife's Ted Humphrey will write and executive-produce.

Unearthly (CW), based on the book by Cynthia Hand, is about a girl who is destined to become an angel. Kevin Murphy is the writer and executive producer and Robin Schorr is an executive producer.

The Hollows (CW), based on the Kim Harrison book series, follows Rachel Morgan, a private investigator/witch who works with local law enforcement. Jordan Hawley (Smallville) is the executive producer and writer.

Throwdown Gun (FX), written and executive-produced by LA Confidential author James Ellroy, is about the lives of a white cop and a black cop whose lives are always linked after they cover up a violent crime.

Besides the projects in development, the company has also received a pilot order from TNT for Scent of the Missing. Tricia Helfer stars as the head of a canine search-and-rescue team.
