CBS has given the greenlight to Rookies, a crime drama pilot from Robert De Niro, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Rookies centers on six new NYPD cops trying to balance their personal lives while working the mean streets of Manhattan.

De Niro, a two-time Academy Award winner for his roles in The Godfather Part II and Raging Bull, will act as executive producer along with crime novelist Richard Price (Clockers) and Little Fockers producer Jane Rosenthal.
