Originally in contention as a pilot in the fall, the comedy was retooled and largely recast. Next to Schneider, the only original cast members left are Eugenio Derbez and Lupe Ontiveros. Claudia Bassols, Diana Maria Riva and Cheech Marin later joined the cast of the comedy, which is executive-produced by Schneider and Lew Morton.
