CBS has given 3 the deep six. The dating show will be replaced next week with repeat dramas in the Sunday 9 p.m. time slot until The Good Wife returns on Sept. 30.

It was a quick demise for 3, which just debuted in its regular Sunday time slot two days ago (after a preview on Thursday, July 26). But the show posted one of (if not the) lowest premiere ratings ever for a CBS show, and in its final broadcast Sunday averaged 1.7 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

The dating series centered on three single women — April Francis, Rachel Harley and Libby Lopez — who come from different background and ages but meet up to sift through nearly 100 men in their quest for true love.

The show had a lot going for it, including its auspices: Top Chef producers Magical Elves (Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz), as well as veteran film producer Chris Columbus and his 1492 Television banner. 3 was based on an Israeli format from Keshet Broadcasting, which also spawned the hit Showtime series Homeland. But 3 just wasn't meant to be.
