Burt Reynolds is recovering from heart surgery.
"Mr. Reynolds has been released from a hospital in Florida in which he had a planned bypass operation," his manager, Erik Kritzer, said. "He wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and states that he has a great motor with brand new pipes and he is feeling great. Doctors plan on a speedy recovery."

Kritzer denied reports that the 74-year-old actor — who received an Oscar nomination for 1997's Boogie Nights — had been rushed to the hospital. He said Reynolds "had this operation scheduled for over a month."
Reynolds — whose TV credits include Gunsmoke, Dan August and Evening Shade — will next be seen in the independent film Not Another Not Another Movie.
