Country Duo Brooks & Dunn to Hang Up Their Boots in 2010

Chart-topping country music duo Brooks & Dunn announced on their website that the group has decided to "call it a day."

"This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed.... We owe it all to you, the fans," the duo said in a message. "If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."

The duo, comprised of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, debuted in 1991 with "Brand New Man," the title track to their first album. The single went to No. 1, as did 22 more of their songs including "Boot Scootin' Boogie," "My Maria" and "She's Not the Cheatin' Kind." The duo has sold more than 30 million albums and won the Country Music Association's vocal duo of the year award every year between 1992 and 2006, except for 2000, according to The Associated Press.

Brooks & Dunn will release #1s...and Then Some on Sept. 8 and hit the road in 2010 on The Last Rodeo Tour. The dates and cities have yet to be announced.
