Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming

Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming have landed lead roles in Broadway's upcoming Spider-Man musical.

In Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark, Wood — who crooned Beatles tunes in Across the Universe — will play Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker's mild-mannered love interest.

Tony Award winner Cumming (Cabaret), meanwhile, will go bad as Norman Osborn/the Green Goblin.

Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe played the characters in the big-screen Spider-Man.

The casting of Peter/Spidey will be announced "very soon," the show's producers said in a statement.

Broadway's take on the webslinger begins previews Feb. 17, 2010, at the Hilton Theater. Music and Lyrics are by Bono and the Edge, and two-time Tony winner Julie Taymor (The Lion King) will direct.
