Grey's Anatomy Star Is Broadway's Next Hot "Mama"
When Grey's Anatomy wraps up its current season, Chandra Wilson will trade in Bailey's lab coat for a guard's uniform to play prison matron "Mama" Morton in Broadway's Chicago.
Wilson will step into the role starting June 8, for a four-week engagement, Playbill.com reports. Queen Latifah played "Mama" in the 2002 big-screen adaptation.
This visit to Chicago is far from Wilson's first Broadway gig. Previously, she has appeared in Caroline, or Change, Avenue Q and On the Town.
The current revival of Chicago staged its 5,000th performance on Nov. 14, 2008.
