Murphy was buried at twilight on Christmas Eve. The funeral was a co-denominational service, led by both a rabbi and a pastor. "Christmas was Brittany's favorite holiday," Murphy's rep told TVGuide.com. "So the family asks that all those who wish to honor her light a candle and remember the beautiful angel that entertained, enlightened, and made the world a better place."

Murphy's former bandmate, and 24 actor, Erik Balfour, served as one of the pallbearers, while Monjack, Murphy's friends and her cousin all recalled their favorite memories of the departed actress.

"Brittany was an incredibly loving and passionate person and an artist to her core — she loved acting, singing, dancing, and performing," her rep said. "There are no words that can truly express the devastation felt by Brittany's husband, mother, and everyone who attended the intimate service."
