Britney Spears is thisclose to becoming a judge on The X Factor in Season 2, Deadline.com reports.
Reports of the pop star joining Fox's reality competition series surfaced last month, with a reported $10 million offer on the table. Negotiations are said to have hit a turning point over this past weekend, with Spears now expected to join the series with a possible $15 million salary.

Once Spears' deal is in place, Simon Cowell will look to fill the other vacant slots. Earlier this year, the show cleaned house, axing host Steve Jones and judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.
Last month, remaining judges L.A. Reid and Cowell confirmed that the two open spots would be filled by two women. Janet Jackson was rumored to be one of them, but she quickly shot that notion down. Among the other names being tossed around are Leann Rimes, Stacy Keibler and Darren Criss, though the latter two were for hosting gigs. Criss reportedly already declined.
