Bret Michaels Suing CBS, Tony Awards Over Onstage Head Injury

Bret Michaels

Bret Michaels has filed a lawsuit against CBS and the organizers of the Tony Awards over the 2009 incident where he hit his head during the show, which he claims led to a life-threatening brain injury, according to The Associated Press.

In his lawsuit, Michaels claims the show organizers did not explain how to properly exit the stage after his performance, and that he was not made aware that the set would change after the band performed.

In April 2010, Michaels was hospitalized and diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage. The 48-year-old rocker had his appendix removed 10 days before that. He later suffered a warning stroke and received treatment, during which doctors found a hole in his heart.

According to TMZ, Michaels is suing for unspecified damages.
