Brenda Strong

After seven seasons spent narrating the wacky goings on of Wisteria Lane, Desperate Housewives' late great (and rarely seen) Mary Alice Young will finally be getting more screen time — in Dallas.

On TNT's new Dallas pilot, Brenda Strong will pick up where original Dallas players Victoria Principal and Priscilla Presley left off. She'll play Ann Ewing, the latest wife of Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy), who we'll see has just as much backbone as Bobby's deceased mama, Miss Ellie. (Barbara Bel Geddes, who played Miss Ellie, passed away in 2005 at age 82.)

Brenda's addition makes her the third actor from Desperate Housewives to be cast in the drama, which begins shooting in Texas later this month. Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate's randy gardener John) plays all-grown-up Christopher Ewing (Bobby's son), while J.R.'s conniving spawn, John Ross, will be played by Josh Henderson, who was Edie's nephew Austin on HousewivesLarry Hagman, who will reprise his iconic role as J.R., recently guest-starred on Housewives as a love interest for Lynette's mother.

But be warned Brenda. In a recent interview with Dallasfanzine.com, Victoria Principal hinted that she might be interested in bringing back Pam should the writers come up with a sensible explanation for the character's 25-year absence from Bobby's life. There just may be some fireworks shooting off over Southfork!
