The 22-year-old star of TLC's Breaking Amish, which premieres Sunday at 10/9c, is one of five young men and women who leave the strict traditions of their Amish/Mennonite lifestyles to explore a possible life in New York. The stakes are high because even if they decide to return to their homes, they risk being shunned by their communities and families.

Abe believes he wants to marry an Amish girl and eventually return to the Amish community, but he first wants to experience a different world, one that would include swimming at the beach and flying in airplanes.
