The football star announced the birth at a press conference Wednesday, calling it a "wonderful experience in my life." He said a name has not been picked out yet.

"It went great," Brady said. "I didn't get much sleep, but I think that's most of us around here this time of year. I think everyone is doing well."

The newborn is the first child for the supermodel and the second for the New England Partiots quarterback. Brady has a 2-year-old son, John Edward Thomas, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

Brady, 32, and Bundchen, 29, tied the knot in two ceremonies earlier this year, first in a private ceremony in Los Angeles in February, and then in a ceremony for friends and family at Bundchen's Costa Rican home in April.
