Ender's Game dominated the box office in its debut this weekend, surpassing Bad Grandpa to claim the No. 1 spot with $28 million, Box Office Mojo reports. Bad Grandpa dropped a spot to second place with $20.5 million.

Last Vegas also performed decently in its opening weekend, coming in at No. 3 with $16.5 million. It narrowly beat the animated feature Free Birds, which debuted at No. 4 with a disappointing $16.2 million.

Gravity fell three spots to No. 5 in its fifth week with $13.1 million.

At No. 6 was Captain Phillips with $8.5 million. After expanding from 123 theaters to more than 400, 12 Years a Slave inched up a spot to No. 7, earning $4.6 million in it third week.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (No. 8, $4.2 million), Carrie (No. 9, $3.4 million) and The Counselor (No. 10, $3.25 million).
