Captain America: The Winter Soldier dominated the box office this weekend, earning $96.2 million, surpassing Fast Five as the highest-grossing April debut, Box Office Mojo reports.

Meanwhile, last weekend's No. 1 film, the Biblical epic Noah, plunged 61 percent to finish in second place with $17 million. Divergent also dropped a spot to No. 3 with $13 million.

After opening in an additional 580 theaters, God's Not Dead jumped a spot to fourth place with $7.7 million, while The Grand Budapest Hotel also moved up to No. 5 with $6.3 million. It narrowly topped Muppets Most Wanted, which ended up in sixth place with $6.28 million.

At No. 7 was Mr. Peabody & Sherman with $5.3 million. Rounding out the Top 10 were Sabotage (No. 8, $1.9 million), Need for Speed (No. 9, $1.8 million) and Non-Stop (No. 10, $1.8 million).
