Bones Spin-Off Casts Saffron Burrows

Saffron Burrows

Saffron Burrows has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming Bones spin-off, a network rep confirms.

Based on The Locator books by Richard Greener, the spin-off follows Walter Sherman (Geoff Stults), a former military policeman with the ability to find anything. Burrows, 38, will play Sherman's sidekick, a bar owner who also knows how to pilot a helicopter and drive a boat. Michael Clarke Duncan will play Walter's partner Leo.

Bones will launch the spin-off in an episode later this season. The casting was first reported by Deadline.

Burrows most recently starred opposite Jeff Goldblum on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She previously appeared on Boston Legal and My Own Worst Enemy.
