Reports of the New Edition singer's death began circulating late Tuesday on Twitter, although its unclear where the false story originated.

The 41-year-old is the most recent celebrity to fall victim to hoax Internet death reports, following Johnny Depp, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.
Brown and Whitney Houston split in April 2007 after 14 years of marriage. The two have a 17-year-old daughter together, Bobbi Kristina. He has four other children from previous relationships.
