HBO Renews Boardwalk Empire for Fourth Season

Boardwalk Empire has been renewed for a fourth season, HBO announced Tuesday.
"Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their outstanding team continue to produce a stunning show that never fails to surprise and entertain," Michael Lombardo, HBO's programming president, said in a statement. "We are excited to bring this unique series back for a fourth season."
The pickup comes two weeks after the show's Season 3 premiere, which drew 2.9 million viewers.

Boardwalk chronicles the life of Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) during the Prohibition in Atlantic City. The series recently received four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Directing for a Drama and Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series.
