In the past, Ray Charles, Mary J. Blige and Marc Anthony, and Alicia Keys, have held the same honor.

Joining the husband-and-wife duo at Lucas Oil Stadium's pre-game performances will be Lenny Kravitz and The Fray, the NFL and NBC also announced Tuesday.
Super Bowl XLVI will air live from Indianapolis on Sunday, Feb. 5 on NBC. As previously announced, Kelly Clarkson will perform the national anthem, and musical acts Madonna, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., will all take part in the halftime show.
