The Voice is kicking it up a notch.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will join the NBC series as a mentor on Christina Aguilera's team, the network announced Thursday.
"We are ready to rock out in Season 3!" read a post to the show's Twitter feed.
Mary J. Blige Joins Adam Levine's Team on The Voice
Armstrong joins previously announced mentors Rob Thomas, Mary J. Blige and Michael Buble, who will be guiding singers in the early rounds of the competition alongside coaches Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, respectively.
The Voice premieres Sept. 10 at 8/7c on NBC.
