Kristin Kreuk is reuniting with her Smallville producers.
Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders have joined CW's new series Beauty and the Beast, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The former Smallville showrunners will act as co-showrunners alongside writers and executive producers Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Loosely based on the 1987 CBS series about an ADA and a noble man-beast who make a connection, the updated love story — with Kreuk as the Beauty and Jay Ryan as the Beast — includes a procedural twist. Austin Basis, Nicole Gale Anderson, Max Brown, Brian White and Nina Lisandrello also star.
Beauty and the Beast will air Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW this fall.
