A&E is extending its stay at Bates Motel.

The network has ordered a 10-episode third season of the drama series, A&E announced Monday. Production on Season 3 will begin this fall.

The creepy prequel to Psycho is the network's top drama in the adults 18-49 demographic, averaging 2.6 million viewers in the demo and 4.6 million viewers overall five episodes into its second season.

Bates Motel, executive produced by Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, stars Freddie Highmore as a teenage Norman Bates. Vera Farmiga was nominated for an Emmy last year for her performance as Norman's mother Norma.
