Barbara Walters will make her first appearance on The View since undergoing heart-valve replacement surgery in May.

Bill Geddie, the show's executive producer, announced that Walters will appear Monday live via Skype.

Angie Harmon, who co-stars in TNT's Rizzoli & Isles, and American Idol winner Lee DeWyze also are scheduled to appear on the ABC morning show (11/10c).

Walters shocked her co-hosts and the audience on May 10, announcing: "You know how healthy I have been — never missed a day's work. Later this week, I am going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve. ... My doctors and I have decided that this is the best time to do the surgery, since the summer is coming up, I can take a nice vacation."

She also will return Monday night to her satellite radio show, which Geddie co-hosts.

"There has been so much news the past few months, I can't wait to start hashing things out," Walters said.

The 80-year-old has co-hosted The View, which she co-created, since its debut in 1997. She hosted her final Oscars special for ABC in March.
