Bachelor Pad's Chris Harrison: Kalon Is Still Pompous and Arrogant
If Bachelorette fans are hoping to see a more likable side to Kalon on Bachelor Pad, they'll be waiting a long time.
"He's still pompous, he's still arrogant — he's still Kalon," host Chris Harrison tells TVGuide.com.
Who's the instigator and who's the amateur? Bachelor Pad host sizes up the competition
On the Season 3 premiere, the 27-year-old Texan arrived to the Bachelor Pad mansion in his convertible, quickly proving he's still all about appearances. (Don't forget he showed up on Emily's season in a helicopter!) Between his attitude and his feud with Erica Rose, Harrison says he has a big target on his back.
Keep reading for more of Harrison's thoughts on the premiere, including why the "super fans" might have a shot at surviving and why he calls Ed a train wreck. (Read our full recap of the episode here.)
Has Kalon not learned anything from his time on The Bachelorette?
Chris Harrison: The thing about Kalon is that he really is unaware. You wish you could pull him out of his own body and let him watch what we're watching. But that comes with age, experience and wisdom, and he'll get that. He'll look back and think, "Wow I was really an ass to Emily and was rude and there was no justification for what I said and did.
What do his new castmates think of him?
Harrison: There's definitely a target on his back. He wasn't the villain in the house coming in, but they still know who he was. Just because he thinks he's turned [over] a new leaf, he's still pompous, he's still arrogant — he's still Kalon.

Ed was a disaster on the first night. Will that continue?
Harrison: I know Ed's life and that's it been a bit of a dumpster fire and a train wreck. And now I know why. He is compelling, lovable, sad and just smart enough to keep surviving. It's almost like the person in the office we all know that keeps failing upwards, but for some reason you can't help but love him. The more I saw Ed, the more I feel bad for Jillian [Harris] and just want to give her a big hug.
What about Chris? He's already in some hot water with Blakeley.
Harrison: Chris is guilty of shooting fish in a barrel, except he tries to shoot them all instead of trying to pick just one. But you have to stay focused. He's creating damage and also has a very arrogant side to him —a stubborn arrogance — which is a deadly combination.
Finally, do the "super fans" stand a chance?
Harrison: The fans knew they had a lot against them, but the way the competition is set up where you can win saves and be able to save someone else sometimes, you can survive. You need a little luck, but all they needed to do was buy some time and they did. It wasn't impossible for them to survive.
Bachelor Pad airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
