Rachel Trueheart and Nick Peterson

In a tense and frankly surprising ending on the Bachelor Pad Season 3 finale, Nick Peterson came out the sole victor, taking home the $250,000 prize. But how did Rachel get cut from the winnings? And which couple got engaged? Read on to see what went down.

After host Chris Harrison and the eliminated contestants reminisced about the season's partnerships, hookups and big fights (more on that later) the final two teams —Rachel and Nick, Chris and Sarah — take the stage. Each team makes their plea and answers to the firing jury, mostly aimed at Chris. The votes are then revealed with Rachel and Nick the overwhelming majority choice for the winning team.

Bachelor Pad Finale: Which couple should win?

With Rachel and Nick named the victors, they're each sent off to deliberate as to whether they want to keep the money for themselves or share it. (Both couples in Seasons 1 and 2 shared.) After what appears to be some debate, they return to reveal their decision. Rachel chooses "share," and then it's Nick's turn to talk. "I think it's ... ironic that nobody would've put their money on me winning this. Nobody was ever on my team, and I did this all myself," Nick says revealing he chose "keep." As the audience is stunned, Nick rants about how he was there for the $250,000 prize and not half of that. Rachel, meanwhile, is shocked, upset and disgusted. In the final minutes of the episode, Nick stands up and claps for himself and Rachel wants to get more answers. They continue their fight until Nick walks away saying, "I played this game brilliantly. Buh-bye."

Besides that big bomb, here's a recap what also happened during the episode:

The episode begins with the entire cast reuniting on stage with Harrison showing a clip package full of some of the more memorable moments from the season. After re-watching the unlikely hookups (Erica and Donna) to romance blooming (too many to name) to bro-fights (Ed and Chris) and more, Kalon and Lindzi tell the audience they're still dating. But Erica, who lives in the same city as him, quickly warns Lindzi he's been running around town on her. The drama continues.

Bachelor Pad's Chris Harrison: I can't believe Nick took control of the game

Next, Chris calls Michael to the hot seat to talk about his reign that fell earlier than anyone expected. Michael says Erica had every right to take him home with her, but says her comments were uncalled for. Erica says she meant what she said and lost a friend. Then, Michael brings up his relationship with Rachel. He says they're no longer together, but amicable, which leads Jaclyn to immediately pipe up and refute it. "I'm not buying what you're selling," she says, explaining her best friend is still very hurt over what happened.

Jaclyn takes the hot seat next after watching clips of her and Ed's relationship grow and also getting inches away from the finale before getting axed by her best friend. Jaclyn says she played the most loyal game and was hurt that she fought for Rachel to stay and then got stabbed in the back. Jaclyn admits she's still pretty angry.

Chris calls up Blakeley to talk about her failed partnership with Chris and ultimately falling in love with Tony. Blakeley gets emotional talking about how lucky she is to have Tony and even questions what she did to deserve him. The two then announce that they're moving in together, but Tony shocks Blakeley by adding that he can't picture her not in his life. He then gets down on one knee and Blakeley (after a few curses) says, "Yes."

What did you think of the Bachelor Pad finale? Do you agree with Nick's decision to keep the money? Or should he have shared it?
