Argo, Ben Affleck Win Best Picture, Director at BAFTA Awards

Argo continued its awards season dominance Sunday, winning the British Academy of Film and Television Arts' prize for Best Picture. Ben Affleck followed up his victory at the Directors Guild Awards last week with another win for directing the film.
Argo will have a chance to repeat the Best Picture win Feb. 24 at the Academy Awards, though Affleck was snubbed for a nomination for Best Director. At the BAFTAs, it beat out fellow Best Picture nominees Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty to take home the top prize.
The lead acting prizes went to Oscar frontrunner Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln and Emmanuelle Riva for Amour. Christoph Waltz and Anne Hathaway won the supporting actor and actress awards for their roles in Django Unchained and Les Miserables.
Awards Season: Red carpet hits and misses
Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained) and David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook) won the awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay, respectively.
The James Bond vehicle Skyfall won the award for Outstanding British Film, beating out Anna Karenina, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Les Miserables and Seven Psychopaths. Other notable prizes went to Amour, for Best Film Not in the English Language, and Brave, for Best Animated Film.
