Desmond Harrington has joined the cast of ABC's upcoming series Astronaut Wives Club, TVGuide.com has learned.
The summer drama tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race.
The Dexter alum will play Alan Shepard, one of the Mercury 7 astronauts and the first American in space. He is competitive, steely, and has a wry sense of humor. Despite a playboy reputation, he and his wife Louise have been married for years.
