Make some more room in the pool: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is the newest tenant of the CW's Melrose Place reboot.
The singer/actress has joined the drama as Violet, an L.A. newbie with a big secret, says The Hollywood Reporter. Vi is based on Amy Locane's Southern belle-turned-starlet Sandy Harling on the original series.
Simpson-Wentz is the third person to be cast, joining Katie Cassidy and Michael Rady in the lineup.
This won't be the new mom's first acting gig: Simpson-Wentz costarred on 7th Heaven for two seasons and can next be seen on the March 18 episode of CSI, alongside husband Pete Wentz. They'll play Bonnie-and-Clyde wannabes.
