Arsenio Hall Returning to Late-Night with New Show

Arsenio Hall is returning to late-night eight years after The Arsenio Hall Show left the air.
Hall, 56, is developing a new show with CBS Television Distribution that would debut in Fall 2013. So far, the show is set to air on New York and Los Angeles' CW channels, WPIX and KTLA, respectively, and would replace sitcom reruns that currently air at 11/10c.

"It's an amazing feeling to be going HOME to my old friends and colleagues and firing up our 'Night Thing,'" Hall said in a statement. "Let's get busy ... AGAIN!"
Hall, who replaced Joan Rivers' as host of The Late Show in 1987, became a household name with the youth-skewing Arsenio Hall Show, which launched two years later. Audience members who were labeled part of the "dogpound" were known for whirling their fists in the air and shouting "wuff" repeatedly, and in 1992, the show made headlines when then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton played "Heartbreak Hotel" on the saxophone during the show. The show won two Emmys during its five-year run.
"We're excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show," CBS Television Distribution president John Nogawski said in a statement. "We are looking forward to the same success with Arsenio's seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre."
Hall won the most recent season of Celebrity Apprentice in May.
