Combining Lady Gaga's "Born this Way" with Madonna's "Express Yourself" made sense melodically, Grande tells TVGuide.com, but she also wanted to send a message with her tunes.

"They're both really empowering songs. There are a lot of young girls that look up to me so I wanted to give them something that makes sense for them to listen to," she says.
