Clad in his signature red bandana, the 24-year-old Internet sensation delighted the crowd at the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards with an abbreviated rendition of his Auto-Tuned hit — and lo and behold, he can actually carry a tune.

The performance was taped a few weeks ago and aired Tuesday.
Dodson rose to viral fame over the summer after he scared off an intruder who broke into his sister's bedroom in a Huntsville, Ala., housing project. His unintentionally hilarious account of the incident to a local news station was turned into a catchy tune by The Gregory Brothers. The song peaked at No. 89 on the Billboard Hot 100, cracking the chart solely on iTunes downloads.
Dodson has since bought a house for his family with the earnings from the sales.
