Anne Hathaway has landed the female lead in The Dark Knight Rises as Selina Kyle (Catwoman's alter ego in the comic books), Warner Bros. announced Wednesday.
Christian Bale says third Batman film will be his last
Hathaway will star alongside Christian Bale, reprising his role as Batman, and Tom Hardy, who will play Bane.
"I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies," director Christopher Nolan said.
Hardy most recently starred in Nolan's hit thriller Inception as Eames, while Hathaway's credits include The Devil Wears Prada, The Princess Diaries and Alice in Wonderland. Her latest movie is Love and Other Drugs.
The third Batman film is set for a July 2012 release.
