Angelina Jolie may seem ubiquitous now, but the actress hints that she may be retreating from her film career.
"I don't plan to keep acting very long," she tells the BBC. "I'm ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day."
In a new video interview, Jolie says that she's increasingly focused on spending time with her children. "I like being home a lot these days," she says. "I have a lot of children. I have a big responsibility to make sure that they're growing right and that they have got us there for them."
The actress, who notes that she hasn't worked this year, explains that she'll shoot again in February and then take a break until the following year. She envisions the stretches of time between her projects to grow wider and wider as the years go on, as part of a natural progression. She currently appears in the period film, Changeling.
Jolie fans shouldn't worry, however, that the end is imminent. "I won't ever say I'm never ever going to work," she says. Yet, she clearly has perspective on her career — now, and in the future.
"I'm not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity and be a successful actress forever," she says. "I've had a time to tell stories, and be successful enough to tell the ones I want to tell. But everything comes in seasons. Hopefully I won't be needing to do that later in my life."
Do you think Jolie will ever "fade away" from movies completely?
