American Idol alum Scotty McCreery was the victim of an early morning home invasion on Monday morning, according to the Associated Press.
The country singer was at an apartment complex near Raleigh's North Carolina State University, where the 20-year old is currently a sophomore, when three men armed with guns entered the house and took cash, wallets, and electronic devices, according to police. McCreery and other victims were held at gunpoint. No one was hurt.

McCreery, 20, tweeted late Monday about the experience. "Yes, it was definitely a very scary night. Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case. I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation," he wrote. "Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case."
Since winning Season 10 of Idol in 2011, McCreery has released three albums and has received numerous awards including the Academy of Country Music Awards' Best New Artist and the American Country Awards' Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
