Alex Trebek

Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek was hospitalized Saturday after suffering a mild heart attack, Deadline reports.

Trebek, 71, is in good spirits and undergoing further testing at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, his reps told the site. He is expected to fully recover and return to host Jeopardy! when the game show begins production on its new season in July.

Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek thinking about retirement

It remains to be seen how this medical setback will affect Trebek's future on Jeopardy! He said in May that he was mulling retirement after 28 seasons. "Yes, I have been thinking of retiring," he told Fox News' Chris Wallace. "But I'm torn because I enjoy doing the show so much. A lot of people have been telling me — 'Alex, you've got to go for at least 30. You've just done 28. Now at least do two more.' So that has a nice ring to it. Put in your 30. And go help people."

Jeopardy! was renewed through 2014 two years ago.

Saturday also brought some good news for the show: It won won best game/audience participation show at the Daytime Emmys.
