"Undercover Angel" Singer Alan O'Day Dies at 72
Singer-songwriter Alan O'Day passed away Friday following a battle with cancer, The Hollywood Reporter reports. He was 76.
"Alan continued to write and perform until his last days," a statement from his label 1st Phase Records read. "Alan was a generous man who gave his heart and soul to the music industry."

O'Day rose to fame as a songwriter in the early '70s for artists like Cher, the Righteous Brothers and Helen Reddy, but is best known for his own 1977 single, "Undercover Angel." In the '80s, O'Day co-wrote songs for Muppet Babies with Janis Liebhart.
He is survived by his wife Yuka.
