Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen
Move over, Skye and Ward fans: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has paired up Melinda May and Grant Ward.
Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) essentially invited Ward (Brett Dalton) to her hotel room at the end of last week's episode after their shared bond of having touched the Asgardian Berserker staff. Tuesday's episode revealed that they did, in fact, hook up, but more shockingly, that it has apparently happened on several occasions. The morning after one particular dalliance, Ward said they'll use the "same plan as before" and stagger their exits.

But May's new relationship with Ward isn't the only thing viewers learned about the tough-as-nails agent this week. Skye (Chloe Bennet) finally discovered how May got the nickname The Cavalry. It turns out some civilians and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were being held hostage by a group of worshippers, so May stormed a compound to get them free. She went in and took out the enemy force, but never told anyone how. She lost herself in there, coming out the other side as a different person. The quiet girl who loved pulling pranks turned into a hardened agent, which is why Coulson (Clark Gregg) brought May on the plane — in hopes that he could find that girl he once knew.
How May took out an entire enemy force still remains to be seen — but we already knew that would happen. The good news is that the old May is still in there somewhere since she pulled a prank on Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) in the episode's end tag.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC. Do you like May and Ward together?
