Adam Lambert has been tapped to perform during the So You Think You Can Dance finale.

Adam Lambert to perform on The View

The 27-year-old American Idol runner-up, who has been the center of controversy following an S&M-themed performance at the American Music Awards, will sing his latest track, "What Ya Want From Me," in his first appearance on the Fox network since the Idol season finale in May.

Following the final performance show Tuesday, Dec. 15, he will perform on the two-hour grand finale Wednesday, Dec. 16 (8-10 p.m. EST live/PST tape-delayed).

Though Lambert's appearances on Good Morning America and Jimmy Kimmel Live! were scrapped in the wake of ABC's influx of AMA complaints, he has since been booked to appear on ABC's The View on Thursday in a taped interview and performance. His View appearance will run the morning after Walters' Most Fascinating People special airs, which includes a segment on Lambert.
