Adam Goldberg Recruited for CBS' Rookies

Adam Goldberg has joined Robert De Niro's cop drama pilot Rookies, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The CBS project revolves around six new NYPD cops trying to balance their personal lives while working the streets of Manhattan. Goldberg, 40, will play Lazarus, a laid-off reporter-turned-cop with street connections who can gather good intel. He joins Leelee Sobieski in the cast.

De Niro will serve as executive producer along with crime novelist Richard Price (Clockers) and Little Fockers producer Jane Rosenthal.
Goldberg, who has starred in Saving Private Ryan, EDtv and A Beautiful Mind, most recently headlined ABC's short-lived cop series The Unusuals. He has also appeared on Friends, Will & Grace and Entourage.
