Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders
Absolutely Fabulous fans got a small stocking stuffer last week, when co-creator Jennifer Saunders said in an interview that she's about to start work on an Ab Fab movie.
Appearing on the British talk show This Morning to promote her new memoir, Saunders said she plans to start writing a script after Christmas. "I'm very close to picking up a pen," she said. "That's how close [a movie] is."
The best TV shows of 2013
Ab Fab was first broadcast on the BBC in the early 1990s, and then brought back in the early 2000s. Rumors of a potential movie have been circulating for years, and gained strength when Saunders and her co-star Joanna Lumley reunited in 2012 for three 20th anniversary specials.
The British comedy follows Eddy (Saunders) and Patsy (Lumley), two hard-living business women who continually engage in exploits to try to recapture their youth.
