AMC Green-Lights Kevin Smith Unscripted Series, Additional Half-Hour to Walking Dead Premiere

AMC has given the go-ahead to Secret Stash, an unscripted series set in Kevin Smith's comic book shop, the network announced on Thursday.

"Draper. Meth. Zombies. This show couldn't be on a better network," Smith said in a statement. "And if they'd pushed just a little harder in the negotiations, I'd have done this show for no payment beyond early access to every episode of Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Walking Dead."

The six one-hour episodes will eavesdrop on the daily banter among The Secret Stash's staff and loyal customers, capturing the emotion of buying and selling collectibles and comic memorabilia. Smith will executive-produce, along with the folks who brought you LA Ink and Storm Chasers and Elyse Seiden (Red State).

AMC also announced eight episodes of the unscripted show JJK Security, a quirky look at the characters who work at a family-owned private security company in rural Georgia.

In Walking Dead news, while the network announced that the Oct. 16 premiere will be a super-sized 90 minutes long, the season will actually be split in two. The first six episodes will air in the fall and the final six will begin on Feb 12.
