A&E Developing Psycho Prequel Bates Motel and Those Who Kill

Get ready for a new generation of people to fear while taking a shower.
A&E is developing Bates Motel, a prequel to Psycho which will chronicle how Norman Bates developed into the demented serial killer. The series will also feature the back story of how his mother, Norma, and her lover damaged Norman. Bates was written by Anthony Cipriano.

The network is also planning an adaptation of Those Who Kill, a Danish series based on the work of author Elsebeth Egholm. Written by Glen Morgan, the series revolves around violent criminals and the detective-profiler team hunting them down. Morgan, Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, Peter Bose and Jonas Allen are attached as executive producers.
