Kelly Ripa may soon be pulling double duty on TV again.
The Live with Regis and Kelly co-host has entered into a script deal with ABC to develop Port Love, a comedy focusing on the backstage drama of a television series, a network rep confirms.
ABC developing Romeo & Juliet series
Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos will co-write, executive produce and star in the series. Jeffrey Hodes and Nastaran Dibai, with whom Ripa worked with on Hope & Faith, will co-write.
Ripa first pulled double duty in 2001 when she simultaneously starred on All My Children, where she met her husband, and replaced Kathy Lee on Live. She also starred on Hope & Faith, which also ran on ABC from 2003 to 2006, while hosting Live.
