Pilot Season: David Arquette Cast in ABC's The Smart One Comedy

David Arquette has joined the cast of ABC's The Smart One pilot, TVGuide.com has confirmed. TVLine.com first reported the news.
In the comedy, Arrested Development's Portia de Rossi stars as a brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly ends up working for her ditzy beauty queen sister Candy (Malin Akerman), who is now a big-city mayor. Arquette will play Candy's husband, Buddy, an easy-going family man and people person. As previously announced, Jean Smart will also star.

Best-known for his role in the Scream franchise, Arquette's TV credits include Pushing Daisies, My Name Is Earl and Friends. He also placed sixth in the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars.
Don Todd will write and executive-produce alongside Ellen DeGeneres.
